This policy explains what information is collected when you use alreadyabroad.com. We've kept the site simple on purpose: there are no accounts, forms or newsletters, and we don't sell personal information.
Information collected
Hosting logs
Our hosting provider processes technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Analytics (only if you accept)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and how visitors use them, including clicks on outbound and affiliate links. Google Analytics is only loaded if you click "Accept" on the analytics banner. Until then, and if you decline, it isn't loaded at all and sets no cookies.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and processes data such as approximate location, device and browser information, and the pages you view. Google's use of this data is covered by Google's privacy policy.
We remember your choice in your browser's local storage (as aa_analytics_consent) so we don't ask on every page. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we delete the Google Analytics cookies and stop loading it.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and keep a record of the correspondence.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link, for example to SafetyWing, you leave our site. The destination may use cookies or tracking parameters to record that you came from us so a commission can be credited. Their handling of your data is covered by their privacy policy. Information you give an insurer when buying is collected by the insurer, not by us.
